【摘要】:ThepurposeofthisInternationalStandardistodefineandpromotetheuseofastandardcode(ISSN)fortheuniqueidentificationofserials.EachInternationalStandardSerialNumber(ISSN)isauniqueidentifierforaspecificserialpublication.ISSNareapplicabletotheentirepopulationofserials,whetherpast,presentortobepublishedintheforeseeablefuture,whateverthemediumofpublication.Serialsincludeperiodicals,newspapers,annuals(suchasreports,yearbooks,directories,etc.),andthejournals,series,memoirs,proceedings,transactions,etc.ofsocieties.Monographs,technicalreports,soundandvideorecordingsandprintedmusicpublicationshavetheirownnumberingsystemsandarenotspecificallymentionedinthisInternationalStandard.SuchitemsmaycarryanISSNinadditiontotheirownstandardnumberswhentheyarepartofaserial.
