【摘要】:Thisdocumentdefinesafileformatforthegenerationofpostaladdressdirectories.Itisdesignedtoholdallinformationnecessarytosupportaddressreadingsoftwareincludingdatarequiredforforwardingapplications.IntypicalpostalautomationsystemsthesefileswillbeprocessedbydirectorygenerationsoftwarewhichcreatesapplicationspecificIoadabledata.Thisdata--usuallyreferredtoasoperationaldirectoryisheavilycompressedandcontainsaccesstablestailoredforthespecificreadingsoftware.Notinthescopeofthisdocumentaretopicsexternaltofilelikecompression,checksums,theinterfacefortransmissiontothesupplier,modificationpermissions,errorhandlingoninconsistentdataandundoinupdatesPurposeTheformathasbeendesignedwiththefollowingrequirementsinmind:mustbeabletoholdthefollowingdata:addressescomposedofaddresscomponents(includingaliasesandrange-data);personandorganizationnames;addresscodestypicallyusedassortcodes;linksbetweenaddressese.g.foruseinforwarding;shouldnotrestrictcharacterencoding;easilycustomizableforspecificapplications;shouldallowcompleteaswellasincrementalupdates,i.e.change-onlydata;itmustbepossibletosplitdatainmultiplefliesforbetterhandling.Theideasbehindthisformatareasfollows:TheformatisbasedonXMLThebasicXMLstructureisgeneral,Project(thetermprojectisusedthroughoutthisdocumenttodescribeaspecificapplicationsuchasaddressdataforaspecificcountryorpostalorganization)specificsarecodedasattributes,Thisshouldmakeiteasiertobuildprojectindependentparsersandtools,Addressdatacanbestructuredhierarchically,AnaddresscomponentappearinginalotofaddressesshallbewrittenonceasparentnodeinalladdressesitisusedintheXMLaddresstree,Beyondthepureaddressdata,therearegeneralaswellasoptionalprojectspecificattributesonthelevelofaddresscomponentsandstringparts.InfavouroffasterparserexecutionandsmallerfilesizesthenamesofXMLelementsappearhrgveryoftenareshortstrings.Semanticsaredefinedonlyinabasicmannerandhavetobecompletedintheprojectspecifictailoringprocess.E.g.astreetwithoutnumbersinthedatamaybeinterpretedasastreetwhichhasnonumbers,orwhereallnumbersarevalid.DuetothisusersmustbeawarethattheinteroperabilityofthisTechnicalSpecificationmaybelimitedtobeappliedtothespecificproject.
