【摘要】:Theseresultsmaybeusedtocomparethesusceptibilityofmaterialswhenexposedtothistestprocedure.Microbiologicalsusceptibilitymaybereflectedbyanumberofchangesincludingstaining,weightloss,orreductionintensileorflexuralstrength.Thispracticemaybeconsideredaninoculationwithamixedcultureoffungiandbacteria.1.1Thispracticeislimitedtothemethodofconductinganevaluationofanonmetallicmaterial'smicrobiologicalsusceptibilitywhenincontactwiththenaturalenvironmentofthesoilandisintendedforuseonmaterialtestspecimensthatareapproximately2cm(3/4in.)thickand100cm2(20in2)orless.Thispracticemaybeappliedtoarticlesthatdonotspendthemajorityoftheirservicelifeinsoil.1.2Awidevarietyofpropertiesmaybeaffectedbymicrobialattackdependingonmaterialoritemcharacteristics.Standardmethods(whereavailable)shouldbeusedforeachdifferentpropertytobeevaluated.Thispracticedoesnotattempttoenumerateallofthepossiblepropertiesofinterestnorspecifythemostappropriatetestforthoseproperties.Testmethodsmust,however,beappropriatetothematerialbeingtested.1.3Itisrecommendedthatthispracticebecombinedwithappropriateenvironmentalexposures(forexample,sunlightsimulatingweatheringdevices,thehydrolyticeffectsofextendedaqueouscontact,orextraneousnutrients)orfabricationintoarticles(forexample,adhesivebondingofseams)whichmaypromotemicrobiologicalsusceptibilityduringtheservicelifeofmaterial.1.4Thevaluesstatedinparenthesesareprovidedforinformationonly.
